Air Transport
Urgent package - by air
The fastest delivery method in the world
When time is critical, air transport is the optimal logistics solution. Atlant Logistics & Relocations provides international air freight for high-priority, time-sensitive, or high-value shipments.
We work with proven airlines and cargo partners, providing handling, consolidation, customs clearance, and real-time tracking. We deliver to and from airports in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Suitable for bridge shipments, spare parts, electronics, and products with short shelf life.
Everything you need to know about Air Transport
Air transport is the fastest, but also the most expensive. There are situations where it is not a “luxury” but a pure business decision – especially when you choose the right type of air service.
When air transport makes sense:
Production line stoppage:
Production line stoppage or risk of stoppage if a spare part is delayed.
Urgent deliveries:
Urgent medical, technological, or contract-bound deliveries.
High-value, light, and compact goods:
High-value, light, and compact goods – electronics, components, bridge shipments, critical consumables.
In such cases, losses from delays are often greater than the price difference between air and road/sea/rail transport.
In air transport, volumetric weight is a key factor. Light but bulky cargo occupies valuable aircraft space and is charged using a formula that converts cubic volume into “kilograms.” This applies to both general cargo and belly cargo, but is especially noticeable for small yet bulky shipments.
What to keep in mind:
General Cargo:
On cargo flights (General Cargo), palletized and larger shipments are often transported – optimized palletization and compact stacking can save significant costs.
Belly Cargo:
With Belly Cargo, we usually deal with smaller, often urgent or delicate shipments – here, oversized boxes are a direct unnecessary expense.
Practical tips:
- Pack as compactly as possible and reduce “air in the box.”
- Avoid unnecessarily large boxes “just in case,” especially for light goods.
- Use quality packaging that protects the cargo without unnecessarily increasing size.
- Provide the forwarder with real dimensions and weight – this ensures the offer is close to the final cost, without unpleasant surprises after terminal measurement.
Atlant can assess with you not only whether air freight is justified, but also whether the shipment should move via a cargo flight or belly cargo so that volumetric weight does not consume the budget.
Air transport is not just a flight from point A to point B. It is a complete logistics chain managed by Atlant Logistics & Relocations – including the choice between cargo flight and belly cargo.
Typical door-to-door process:
Pickup from address:
A van or truck collects the shipment from your warehouse/office. Packaging, labels, dimensions, and weight are checked. Waybills and basic documents are prepared.
Selection of air transport type:
Based on volume, deadlines, and cargo specifics (pharmaceuticals, electronics, equipment, samples), the following is selected:
- cargo flight (General Cargo) – for palletized, larger, or special goods;
- Belly Cargo – for smaller, urgent, or high-value shipments with limited volume.
Cargo terminal handling:
The shipment is weighed, measured, scanned, and inspected according to airline and security requirements. If necessary, it is re-palletized or rearranged.
Export/import customs clearance:
Preparation and submission of customs declarations, HS codes, certificates, and specific requirements for the goods and destination.
Flights and transit points:
The cargo passes through one or more flights and airports – cargo flights usually offer clearer cargo networks, while belly cargo offers flexibility with regular passenger routes.
Arrival at destination airport:
Unloading, terminal handling, customs release. Inspection for damage and document compliance.
Final delivery to end address
Ground transport to the client’s warehouse or site – door-to-door, without the need for you to separately organize airport agents, local carriers, or customs brokers.
When all these steps are managed by a single partner, you receive one chain, one report, and one responsible party – regardless of whether the shipment flies on a cargo aircraft or in the belly of a passenger plane.
